Back at it!: Newsletter March 1, 2022
All Hands on Deck! This week’s weather has everyone around the farm excited for spring! With the warmer weather March generally brings, we have the whole crew back this week. Fain, who has been working with us for over three years now, came back at the start of February to help with early season tasks around the farm. This week our newest farm hand, Allison, will begin her second season working alongside us at the farm. We couldn’t manage without these reliable ladies. We will see you again on Saturday at the Lynchburg Market. We are also bringing bread to the Millrace Market on Sunday at Woodson’s Mill in Lowesville (off rt. 151) in Nelson County. This is a monthly event with other farmers, craftspeople, and food vendors. Come out from noon-4 for a chance to see the beautiful historic water-powered mill where our flour is ground! |

Expanding Outdoors! Last week we planted kale, cabbage, and collards outdoors and even squeaked in some spinach and carrot seeds outside. We are excited and thankful for the warm spell this week which is helping get those crops established. Above, Swiss Chard plants going into a bed alongside established cilantro plants. |
