10,000 Onions in the Ground! You read that title right. This week the Great Day crew planted 10,000 onion bulbs! It was a process involving multiple days and many beds. We chose four different varieties which we can look forward to harvesting in four months. They will be well worth the wait to those who purchase them at market and our CSA members when they become part of their weekly share. |
Bok Choy, Pak Choi, Chinese Cabbage |

A veggie with many names, the Bok Choy is one of our favorite cabbage varieties grown on the farm. Like other cabbage varieties, this veggie is a cold weather plant we sell from late fall to early spring. This 6,000 year old Chinese crop has a a typical cabbage flavor with a hint of pepper. Both the leaves and the bulb of the Bok Choy can be used. In fact, many people call it the soup spoon of the vegetable world, yet another name to add to the list! |
